*I DID IT*

Check out the pictures in the links to the left.

On January 11, 2004, I completed my third Team in Training event. I served as a walking mentor to the Northern New Jersey team at the Walt Disney Marathon, and run/walked 13.1 miles! My official time was 3 hours and 46 minutes.

Thanks to all of you who supported my fundraising efforts and thanks for all your good luck wishes!

My next endeavor is to RUN the Rock 'n Roll 1/2 Marathon in Virginia Beach On August 31st. Check back for updates!

*Original Statement*
The team is walking in honor of Kristin Rooney, a 29 year old non-Hodgkins lymphoma survivor who will be participating with us! I'm also participating in honor of my mom, Terry, who died from complications of Hodgkin's lymphoma at the age of 42, and my step-dad, Paul, who died is January 2003. He had leukemia and didn't even know it.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training program is the world's largest endurance sports training program. In exchange for training & support, I'll be raising funds that go toward research, advocacy, patient services & public awareness. Of the money I raise, more than 76% goes to the cause. The rest goes toward my coaching, training and travel.

Did you know...

* An estimated 106,700 people in the US will be diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma in 2003?

* Every nine minutes, another child or adult is expected to die from leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma?

* Leukemia and lymphoma are the leading fatal cancers in young men under age 39?

* Approximately 445,679 members of the U.S. population are living with lymphoma: 131,279 with Hodgkin lymphoma and 314,400 with non-Hodgkin lymphoma?

I've set a personal goal to raise $2000, and you can help. With your tax deductible donation, you can help fight a battle we are getting closer to winning every day. The "Team" will win.
